At the previously mentioned Record Stores request, I have pulled my post. RSD is investigating. I will accept whatever Record Store Day comes to determine. My point has been made and the record store has lost a customer.

A guy with a fist full??? Isn't it one per customer?? Incriminating yourself isn't going to win you back this customer. Certainly not fair or a just way of allowing your customers to acquire these records fairly.And either you or one of your employees stated to the crowd that you only had two copies of Big Star. Look, you ran RSD poorly - I'm not upset about not getting this stuff. I'm not a reseller, I'm a guy who collects records and shares them with my family. What you've done defeats the principle of RSD.
Yes it was supposed to be 1 title for customer but now we hear people were giving stuff to their friends/ family to buy more than one title like the guy in the other blog you posted on said about the guy and his family. For all I know this was the same guy. I was not even there until 11.00 since I was up all night setting this stuff up. And it was me who came up with the one for customer rule not record store day!It could have been like always and let the first in line get all they want but I was trying to be fair and I took some shit for that too butit was posted for weeks people had devised ways of getting by this(or so I was told). But I do know if one individual came up with more than one item he was turned away.Several tried I was told but if this guy or other people were pulling that family friends thing well there is no way to tell(it might even be the same person as in the blog). We also found stashes of stuff hidden all over the store so Im guessing to come back later or the next day and probably some stuff walked out the door in the chaos. We got three copies of Big Star but I bought one for myself since they are a group love and collect. That is the only thing I bought for myself and there were two out in the AM but you were just in the wrong section (45s)to get one of them. I do know one was sold to the first guy in line. I guess when you go to black Friday sales you bitch because you don`t get there early enough to get the best deals and if you think you can run a business and run an event like RSD with so many titles and triple the crowd than last year better than me while in the middle of moving your business in a new location then go for it otherwise shut the fuck up.

I really don`t even know what your points are at this point dude as they keep changing. As for RSD we will have a much better layout and not in a cramped store like they were on the last RSD. Wherever you go I would suggest you get there earlier and try to find out the layout the night before.
ReplyDeleteDamn. Everybody has their internet muscles on this week!! These retailers def need a better policy with regards to RSD. I would suggest this: at 10 mins to doors, the retailer hands our random numbers, like a ticket or something. then people line up according to that number. 5 people at a time inside the store, then limit the number per person they can buy, like 5 or 10 per person, that's it. None of this hording or crowding BS that goes on and Mojo is not alone in their problems on RSD. That's how I would deal with RSD, as for retailers who hoard and then sell on eBay, not much you can do about that, but I bet it goes on all day long, I mean most retail shops are already selling stuff on eBay.
